Dr. Avirut Puttiwongrak and Dr.Tanwa Arpornthip, ESSAND’s Lecturers, have been accepted into Integrated Research on Disaster Risk’s Young Scientists Programme.

Congratulations to Dr. Avirut Puttiwongrak and Dr.Tanwa Arpornthip who have been accepted into Integrated Research on Disaster Risk’s Young Scientists Programme with the topics of “Preliminary Assessment of Seawater Intrusion Problem in Phuket Island, Thailand” and “Disaster Ratio Analysis for Flood Risk Assessment of Thailand’s Andaman Region.” Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR) is co-sponsored by the International Council for Science (ICSU), the International Social Science Council (ISSC), and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR). The program aims to “promote capacity building of young professionals, and encourage them to undertake innovative and needs based research which makes science-policy and science-practice linkages stronger.”
