Conducting a Workshop Entitled “The Basic of Electrical Resistivity Method (ERM) Application” at Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Cambodia

On 11 July, 2019 at Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Cambodia, Mr. Sakanann Vann, research assistant in ESSAND and ANED, conducted a workshop on the topic entitled “The Basic of Electrical Resistivity Method (ERM) Application” to share some basic knowledge about ERM to undergraduates who are pursuing Engineering degree in Faculty of Geo-resource and Geotechnical Engineering (GGE) of ITC, located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The objective of this workshop are (1) to provide the participants the better understanding of ERM application through the brief lecture, (2) to provide the participants how to run resistivity data inversion and interpretation by using license AGI software (EarthImager 1D, 2D and 3D) and (3) to provide the participants the main information about ESSAND and ANED, especially scholarship opportunities.

The fifteenth regional congress on Geology, Mineral and Energy resources of Southeast ASIA (GEOSEA XV) at Hanoi, Vietnam

Miss Phuong Khanh Mai attended the GEO-SEA XV international conference 2018 (Poster Categories) on “Geology, Mineral and Energy resources of Southeast ASIA” at Hanoi, Vietnam, organized by three main organizers such as General Department of Geology and Minerals of Vietnam (GDGMV), Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) and Vietnam Union of Geological Sciences (VUGS). The aim of this conference is to focus on applying geological understanding and interpretation to geological modelling to support sustainable development.

The 4th International Conference of Low Carbon Asia and Beyond (ICLCA 2018) at Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Mr. Viet Anh Le Nguyen and Miss. Hong Anh Thi Nguyen attended as the oral presenters in International Conference on “Transformation towards Smart, Resilient  & Sustainable Communities” at Johor Bahru, Malaysia, organized by Johor Bahru City Council and UTM, and co-hosted by Iskandar Malaysia Regional Authority (IRDA), LoCARNet, Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), and National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES)  from Japan. The aim of this ICLCA 2018 is to provide a high‐impact platform bringing together researchers and multi‐stakeholders from academia, government and industry in Asia to share their expertise, knowledge and experiences in order to facilitate and catalyze the transformation of Low carbon society in Asia and beyond.

Mr. Sakanann VANN attended as the oral presenter in  the 12th GMSARN International Conference 2017 on “Energy Connectivity, Environment and Development in GMS” at Da Nang city, Vietnam, organized by Greater Mekong Subregion Academic and Research Network (GMSARN) and co-organized by Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST). The aim of this GMSARN 2017 is to focus on connectivity, environment, and development in the GMS countries to transform its future.

Participating in International Conference “Asia-Pacific Coastal Aquifer Management Meeting (APCAMM)” at Da Nang City, Vietnam

Mr. Sam Ol Kong participated as the oral presenter in international conference, called Asia-Pacific Coastal Aquifer Management Meeting (APCAMM) at Da Nang, Vietnam. This conference was initiated by a group of water experts from academia, governments and international organizations with a common interest in the management of coastal aquifers for socio-economic development. The main goal of this bi-annual forum is to provide an opportunity for people both locally and from outside the Asia-Pacific region to share knowledge in coastal aquifer water resources and management, with a focus on the Asia-Pacific region.

Participating in International Symposium on Flood pulse Ecosystems at Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.

Mr. Sam Ol Kong participated as the oral presenter in International Symposium on Flood pulse Ecosystems (ISFE) at Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, hosted by University of Battambang and Inland Fisheries Research and Development Institute, and assisted by Unversity of Toulouse (France), Conservation International (USA), Guelph University (Canada), Boston University(USA), and Texas University (USA).The main purpose of ISFE is to provide a platform for national, regional and international researchers/scientists to present their research findings in tropical flood pulse ecosystems and the important links to socio-economics, management and governance of the rural communities in order to promote the exchange of information and knowledge between the academics and practitioners for an optimized utilization of ecosystem services.
